Camp Quality’s purpose is to create a better life for every child living with cancer in Australia.
The services we provide for children (0-13 years) living with cancer and their families help create a better life by building optimism and resilience throughout each stage of their cancer journey. Our programs are Australia-wide: we have an office in every state and territory.
Right from diagnosis, throughout treatment and in remission or bereavement, our programs support the whole family; at hospital, at home, back at school and away from it all.

We get it. Just when life should be full of possibilities, cancer crashes into a young person’s world and shatters everything. CanTeen is the game changer.
We help young people cope with their own cancer or cancer in their family. Through CanTeen, they learn to explore and deal with their feelings about cancer, connect with other young people in the same boat and if they’ve been diagnosed themselves, we provide specialist, youth-specific treatment teams.
By feeling understood and supported, young people develop resilience and can rebuild the foundations that crumbled beneath them when cancer turned their life upside down. That’s how CanTeen is the difference.
CanTeen works by having young people at the centre of everything we do. Combined with our leading edge research into the emotional and social impacts of cancer, it ensures that we truly understand how cancer is different in a young person’s world.
CanTeen has a team located in Newcastle (Kotara) that provides support to young people of the Newcastle and Hunter region.

At Centre For Hope we work with Disadvantaged Young People and provide them with the opportunity to view themselves in a way that is often contrary to their expectations and those of others. We seek to empower these Young People so that they connect to the things that matter to them and thus create and inspired life. Above all else, once a Young Person is heard and their story listened to without judgement they are often able to move beyond the limitations and boundaries set and begin to respect themselves. This allows them to see the possibilities in life and their part in creating them.
We work one on one or in groups and accept referrals from schools, FACS, CAMHS and a variety of other sources. We provide Young People access to coaching and this allows them to create their inspired life whilst being supported by community members who act as mentors.
We also support families of these young people and run a Homework Centre and Drop In Centre in the Lake Macquarie area. We also run a Wheels for Hope project which allows young people to recondition bikes at Mount Hutton, Kurri, Raymond Terrace and Gilgandra.

ConnectAbility provides a range of personalised supports that gives opportunities for people to be able to access community resources and venues. We support people with a disability to live the lives they choose through building skills of independence and access to activities across the Hunter.
Older members of the community are assisted to maintain their independence through in home domestic supports, travel to appointments and shopping, and access to friendship groups that maintain links to the community and provide entertainment, and in some cases respite for family carers.
Our services to young people and families include counselling, playgroup, vacation and after school programs and a variety of education sessions to support people from CALD backgrounds.
